What the
Heck is an Affirmation?
We all have
"self-talk". Self talk is simply that little voice
in your head. You'd be surprised how much self talk
we have in a day. Most of it is negative. We beat
ourselves up every day. Let's work on catching our
self talk and make sure it is positive.
An positive
affirmation is positive self talk on purpose. Are
there negative affirmations? You bet! When you come
across a challenging situation, your negative self
talk, or a negative response to a similar situation,
will most likely give you a negative response to
this current challenge. A positive affirmation,
repeated over time, will help you improve your
results to that tough challenge.
In baseball terms,
how many times have you gone up to the plate facing
a tough pitcher and "hoping" you won't strike out?
What is usually the result? Failure. Try something
different. Maybe challenge the pitcher (with your
self talk) to "try" and throw a fastball by you.
Over time, I bet you'll have better success.
