MLB
reported yesterday that the MLB players applauded
the new drug policy.
The players feel it
will clean up the game and level the playing field.
I still have my
doubts.
The policy states
that every player will undergo at least one
unannounced test during the season.
Players may be tested
additional times including during the off season.
The penalty for the
first offense will be a 10-day suspension; second
time, 30 days; third time, 60 days; fourth time,
one-year. All suspensions will be without pay.
The list of banned
substances will not only include steroids, but
steroid precursors and designer steroids such as
THG, as well as masking agents.
While I applaud the
new ruling, there will still be players working
around the system.
If you really want to
make this work, make the penalties much stiffer
right out of the chute.
Many of these steroid
experts are a step ahead of the testing.
Let's all hope it
works.
The game will be much
better for it.
As a father of four
and two boys who play baseball, I hope that these
new rules will eliminate the abuse.
I'm still not sure
what the ruling is for the minor leagues, but I hope
it is stiffer.
Those are the players
who are more motivated to use the drugs to try and
get ahead.
Let's get better the
clean way. Hard work, good nutrition, proper
supplements, a proven conditioning program like ours
at BioForce and sound mechanical principles.
Keep working hard!
