A Left-Handed Hitter Hits Grand Slam with New Bat

I probably saw one of the top three best high school games last night. My son's team was playing their rival and team ranked second in the state for the first of a three game series. The other team had their ace throwing…you know the type….all world, everyone says he's the best thing since sliced bread….yada yada yada.

Well, this pitcher did have our number. Our pitcher, who has been great the past three years, was throwing a great game too. We were down 4 to nothing in the bottom of the 7th. We do only play 7 in high school baseball.

Our team had our 7, 8, and 9 hitters coming up to bat in the bottom of the 7th. It sure looked like the game was over. The 7th hitter gets a bloop single. The 8th hitter gets hit. The ninth hitter gets a fisted hit over the third baseman's head. Bases loaded…no outs.

Here's where the story gets interesting. My good friend, Jerry, is the marketing director at a major baseball bat maker located near our academy, and was showing me this new product a couple of weeks ago. The strangest thing I've seen. A bat for left-handed hitters and a bat for right-handed hitters. The bats are really the same, but there is something very weird about the handle or grip. I can't explain it very well. It fits the hands very nicely. When you pick it up, it feels like you were born with it in your hand. I'll have a picture to put on the internet very soon for you when they release the product. I have to wait until it becomes public.

Anyway, I was given a couple of bats for demo and I gave one of the right-handed versions to my son, and the left-handed version to his buddy on the team, Michael. Well, Michael came up to bat with the bases loaded and was quickly called for two strikes….marginal calls if you ask me.

He proceeded to work the count to full by taking some bad pitches and fouling off a couple of others and then BAM….home run to right to tie the game. The other team was stunned.

Next batter gets out. One out. Next batter gets a single and then he goes to second on a ball in the dirt. An intentional walk to our 4 hitter. Number 5 guy gets up and singles to right and the throw to home to get our runner out is off line, the pitcher catches the ball and it’s a foot race to the plate. Our guy wins the foot race to the plate and we win the game. An incredible finish. We now play the same team on Wednesday and Friday. It will be a lot of fun and I'm sure the other team will be geared up for the game big time.

After the game, I asked the Grand Slam kid what he thought about the left-handed model of the bat, and of course, he doesn't want to give it up. He said it felt awesome in his hand, like a glove or an extension of his arms. My problem is that I have to get the demo bats back to Jerry by Wednesday.

I'll let Jerry know today that their new models are a hit at least on this team. I'm going to ask if they can use the bats through the end of the three game series. I know I will be getting a lot of calls from folks like you about this new model and I shouldn't have even mentioned it in this email. But the story is so incredible, I had to or I would burst at the seams. What should I do?

Well, what I have to say is…

April Fools!

Left-handed bat? I can't believe you fell for that one. The story about the game last night. Very true. An incredible game. One of the best I've seen…the best comebacks against a great team.

What's not April Fools is a sale we are having at BioForce Baseball to celebrate this fun day. A very true special event.

For a very short time, we are having a sale. Anything you purchase on our website during the April Fools sale, you'll receive 20% off.

It's not advertised on the site and is only available to the BioForce Family.

What you need to do is type in the word "Fools" in the coupon code box at checkout, and it will automatically calculate the discount for you.

That means you will receive an additional discount from any package too, which are already discounted.

This is no joke. A 20% discount and anything you purchase on the site. It won't last very long.

So, don't be looking for any left-handed bats on the BioForce Baseball site any time soon though!

Have a great day!

Train like a champion today!
