You only
have to be a 4 tool athlete
What?! All the scouts
and coaches tell me I need to be a 5 tool player.
Well, I'm not talking
about the 5 tools for baseball players. All athletes
need to be as sharp with their 4 tools as possible.
Doesn't matter which sport.
The tools I'm talking
about.....Biomechanics, Strength/Conditioning,
Mental/Emotional training and Nutrition.
If you have the
prettiest pitching delivery, but don't have the
strength to support it over a period of time or
innings, then you are sure to fail. What if you are
as strong as an ox, have great mechanics, but break
down mentally during a game, how far will your
career take you? Not far.
Nutritionally, if you
are putting garbage into your body, you'll perform
like garbage.
Take care of all
four. You'll benefit in the short and long term.
