Canada
beats Team USA 8-6…Good day eh?
Now I have to admit,
I haven’t been paying much attention at this World
Baseball Classic.
I don’t know if it is
because I am busy with business, or if it is the
brand of baseball.
My concern from the
beginning with this whole tournament was that
players aren’t physically prepared and how much of
their hearts are really in the game?
Not that Canada
shouldn’t beat USA in baseball, but shouldn’t we
dominate this tournament?
As a country are we
becoming complacent with our athletics?
Think about it. At
the international level, we aren’t dominating in
basketball or hockey. We aren’t dominating in
America’s pastime, baseball.
We’ve become
complacent in a lot of things. Look at the auto
industry. Foreign cars are outselling American cars
in our own country.
I guess my point
today is, let’s not be complacent where we are right
now with our own baseball game. Your current
performance.
Take your game to the
next level. Strive to be better. Get that
competitive edge back. That doesn’t mean you need to
beat yourself up if you fail at something, just take
note of what happened and work on getting better.
Take the extra effort.
Baseball should be
about getting better and being competitive. That
doesn’t mean you have to be a jerk about being
competitive, just strive to be the best.
I’ll step off my soap
box…for now.
Keep making it
happen!
